Bowling for Scholars

May 27, 2001

Text and Photos by Rachel Worth

I think you'll agree, bowling was never like this. The fans turned out en masse for this worthwhile fund-raiser, co-sponsored by the Southern California Chapter of VSDA (Video Software Dealers Association), FOXE, and the Free Speech Coalition. Deserving students will benefit from the profits raised at this highly successful event in Torrance, California. There were approximately 200 people in attendance, ultimately taking over the entire bowling alley. Although adult entertainers just can't seem to keep their clothes on for long, the entire crowd was well-behaved and all had a great time whether they came to bowl, win prizes, take photos or visit with the celebrities.

It was so successful that organizers immediately began planning the next bowling event, which is tentatively scheduled for November, 2001. I will post details on this website as they develop. Enjoy the photos and come join us next time. Be sure to pre-register next time, so you'll be guaranteed a spot; you don't want to get turned away at the door.
