AVN Adult Entertainment Expo Day One - January 6, 2005

I followed behind Seymore Butts into the Sands Hotel Convention area after picking up my badge in the Press Room. He was being escorted along with Teagan Presley and other stars over to a stage near the show entrance to announce the opening of the 2005 AVN Adult Entertainment Expo. The place was already mobbed and people were anxious to get inside. Once inside, I noticed that some exhibitors were still setting up their displays (must have partied too hardy last night). But, most were ready to do business. This first day was for trade only, no fans, so although it was crowded, it wasn't too bad at all. By "trade" they mean people who own video stores or adult website designers or anyone who deals in a business related to the adult industry. Also, the Press is there to cover the event--doing interviews and shooting photos and video. There were lots of stars present, as you'll see in the pictures in the gallery. And, just because this is "for Trade only" doesn't mean that those present aren't also fans. Au contraire! They stand in long lines, too, to get autographed headshots of their favorite adult celebs. The only difference is that sometimes they have the star personalize the autograph to the XYZ Video Store instead of Tom, Dick or Harry. Janine looked ravishingly beautiful and was the first star I spotted when I entered. It was good to see her and she claimed to remember me. I would like to interview her one of these days. I didn't set up any formal interview times with anyone because it's so difficult to stick to a set schedule while there, but I did manage to do a sit-down interview with Teagan today. I will need to transcribe it. About a week before my Vegas trip, I posted a message in the Adult DVD Talk Forum asking people what questions they wanted me to ask the celebs while in Vegas, and I did manage to get four of those questions in when I interviewed Teagan, so stay tuned for her answers to such questions as "How can a guy get a date with a porn star?" and "How do porn stars get the insides of their asses so clean?" as well as a couple of the other things people wanted to know.
