Photos and Reports from the Internext Expo and Parties, January 4-7, 2004 January 8 AVN Adult Entertainment Expo According to preliminary attendance figures issued by AVN, "more than 8,000 industry professionals - including retailers, distributors, manufacturers, exhibitors, press, and adult stars - and nearly 16,000 fans attended the Expo. The total attendees in each category exceeded the number of attendees in 2003, which set the previous record for attendance." Every year, it just grows and grows. What can you possibly say about the AVN Expo, except that it is by far the best convention for fans to meet the stars they adore. It is always so much fun and a not-to-be-missed event if you're a true fan. Below are just a few of the hundred or more stars that were there.
January 9 Jill Kelly Productions Party and Family Business (Seymore Butts) Party Tonight was a VERY busy night. Both parties were at the Venetian in different locations, so I kept going back and forth between the two parties. The JKP party was packed to the walls, and the VIP area was extremely dark, making it difficult to take pictures. There was dancing in one room that was really pretty with lots of colorful lighting. The Family Business Party--sponsored by Showtime and Seymore's Team Tushy--was also packed, and there was another private party going on, too, so it was difficult to know which people were part of which group. It was in a small bar, so it was challenging to move around. Attendees were told they could not sit down as all the booths were reserved. I don't think Seymore was too happy with the arrangements. I only took a few photos at each party, but I did have a good time.
January 10 Scott Fayner Weds Taylor Rain Scott and Taylor decided to get married in the KSEXradio booth. The ceremony was officiated by DJ Foothill and was attended by KSEXradio hosts, Adam & Eve staff and dozens of porn stars and Expo attendees. Are they now legally married? Who knows?
The Adult Video News (AVN) Awards I hadn't registered as Press for this event, so I stood outside with all the fans. They formed two lines along the long hallway leading to the large ballroom where the awards were presented. The stars walked down the center, stopping momentarily to pose for pictures or greet a fan.
Sean Michaels' Party This party took place in a suite at the Venetian. Lots of people wandered in and out and gathered in the living room or the bedroom to drink, chat, dance and play. There was live entertainment and an open bar.
Bondcon There is always much to see at Bondcon, the convention for bondage and fetish items. It was well-attended and many attendees arrived in fetish attire. There were many booths set up selling all kinds of bondage items and toys for the BDSM crowd. There were demonstrations of the proper technique of binding with ropes, flogging with whips and suspension. There were slaves worshipping feet or being led by a leash.
THE CONVENTIONS ARE OVER It has been a great week, filled with lots of activity and very little sleep. I really look forward to the January Expos in Las Vegas each year.
